Audio Engineering

What does Audio Engineering mean? Do I really need one for my event??

So let's start with the basics what is an Audio Engineer? An audio engineer's job is to get sound from one place to another, while the whole time making the sound kind to the listener's ears. Whether it’s a person talking or singing, and the audience hearing it through the speakers in the same room or another. You may be surprised to know it's not as easy as hiring the microphone and a speaker and it all works perfectly, there are multiple jobs of an audio engineer.

The first step is finding out the audio requirements, how many people in the room that need to hear the speech or songs. How many people will be speaking and singing? On the day of the event, it will be the placement of the microphones and speakers, also running the cables.

There is also mixing this is taking different parts of the audio, so if you have a singer and a keyboard then you want the sound in the room to be equal not one overpowering the other. Same principle for a band, an audio engineer will make sure all instruments are heard the same rather than one louder than the other.

Ever wondered what PA system stands for? Its Public Address, so weather your at a house of worship, a corporate event, or even a live concert there will be an audio engineer making sure you can hear clearly
